Fee: Standard (inc. 2 nights dinner, B&B) £470 Subsidised places are available at £270 for first ten participants from Europarc member organisations
This course will introduce all the elements required to plan and implement your own youth or junior ranger programme. Focusing on key elements of Ranger activities such as navigation, interpretation, conservation and bushcraft, we’ll show you how to adapt these to suit the special qualities of your own protected area, whilst highlighting the skills and techniques needed to engage with teenagers.
Learn to:
· Build a successful programme in your open spaces, understanding key elements that make youth or junior ranger programmes work.
· Implement appropriate policies and standards relating to health and safety including risk assessment and child protection
· Engage young people in biodiversity and conservation through practical programmes
· Develop your own confidence working with young people
· Identify possible routes for accreditation and assessment of your programme
