Practical work in, and the theory of, Nature Conservation is an important part of the Youth Ranger programme. Throughout the course, they will learn a wide range of skills and ideas about the different methods of Nature Conservation. They will learn how to restore and protect key habitats within the National Park.
Such issues may include protecting fragile moorlands by reseeding heather or creating paths and barriers to prevent erosion. The skills in this section will be taught throughout the Youth Ranger course and can often be related into the Youth Ranger's local communities, where they will be encouraged to take part in, or organise conservation projects.
